What follows are a serious of savage and unforgiving fights to establish who is the "ultimate prison champion".............

Review:What a brilliant introduction into the world of Scott Adkins! Boyka kicks, flips, swears and punches at his opponents without holding back. The movie was a fantastic showcase of the acrobatic and martial arts abilities of Scott Adkins, who would go on to be a regular collaborator with Isaac Florentine. Michael Jai White, who is also criminally underrated, gets to show his well-built physique, though his movements are restricted because his character is a boxer. Isaac Florentine adds some layers to the character of Yuri Boyka instead of resorting to cliches, which was sort of refreshing to watch in this genre. In fact, Yuri Boyka murders one of his assistants on getting to know that his opponent was drugged, because he believed he was "the most complete fighter in the world" and that he did not need to resort to cheap methods to prove his supremacy. The emotional ending of the movie also raises it a notch above the usual movies of this genre. JJ 'Loco' Perry and Isaac Florentine also deserve credit for their tight and energetic choreography and filming the fight scenes crisply and smoothly instead of resorting to hacks like quick camera cuts and stunt doubles, because all the fighters are the real deal. Highly recommended if you are a fan of the martial arts genre.
